James Strange started his bass playing career with the Royal Marines Band, performing on the tuba, double bass, and bass guitar at events such as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the opening of the Scottish Parliament, Horse Guards Parade and the annual Mount Batten’s festival of music at London’s Royal Albert Hall. He studied harmony in depth during his musical training and diploma studies, taking a particular interest in arranging orchestral and piano works for solo instruments.

James obtained his BSc Hons from the University of Edinburgh, and continues to perform, arrange and record regularly in Scotland.
